In 1968 this car made a brief but unforgettable appearance in the hit movie "The Thomas Crown Affair" directed by Norman Jewison, written by Alan R. Trustman... and starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway.
This scene did not appear in the movie. The painting is a completely imagined moment ...but it is correct for the movie's time period. New York's Times Square is crossed by Dunaway as an amused, but interested, McQueen looks on.
Note that the car is depicted as it appeared in the movie... the original GT was modified with a GM "maroon" repaint, a streamlined rearview mirror and an antenna. The Ferrari 275 NART Spyder #09437 was the first one manufactured and it was delivered to Chinetti Motors in February 1967 finished in Giallo Solare (Sun Yellow) paint.
While the car is correct for the time-frame as presented, many, many artistic liberties were taken with the background. And, although the street layout, architecture and advertising are period correct, advertisers and colors were moved around and modified to suit the painting.

In the early Thirties, Alfa Romeo dominated Grand Prix racing with the brilliant Tipo B. It is viewed as one of the milestones in Alfa Romeo's racing history. Originally undertaken as a "loose" study for a larger work, the color balance and overall effect proved to be worth taking to a full painting. This scene is selected only for its complimentary coloring and "vintage" feel.

Perhaps best know for being one of the streets that surround the Paris Opera House Palais Garnier, Boulevard Haussmann presents a wonderful example of the heart of Paris. A leisurely walk down the Boulevard in 2023 presented the view captured in the painting "Parking".

Ferrari Daytona SP3 in front of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Italy's oldest active shopping arcade and a major landmark of Milan. The Galleria is named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy, designed in 1861 and built by architect Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877.
*about studies: Executed primarily to test an idea, the layout and the color balance of a concept being considered for a larger, more substantial...and usually more detailed...work. But once in a while the studies themselves can become so good... so demonstrative of the original idea... that it doesn't need to go any further. The study itself becomes the final work.

He has working on everything from sports cars to Can-Am, from Formula 5000 to Formula 1. He opening his first mechanic shop in 1973. The painting features three "ages" of Sicard, shown at his youngest in the background, then a little older, with the main portrait dating to about 2015.
